Job Purpose:

The Mine and Plant Asset Management Analyst is responsible for ensuring the efficient and strategic management of costs, budget, and the lifecycle of critical equipment and components. Their purpose is to provide technical and economic analyses, management reports, and optimization proposals that improve the availability, reliability, and total cost of ownership (TCO) of assets, contributing to decision-making and operational excellence in the Mine and Plant Maintenance areas.

Functions:

• Cost Control and Management (OPEX & CAPEX)

Monitor, control, and perform detailed analysis of OPEX and CAPEX costs associated with mine and plant equipment, ensuring alignment with the annual budget.

Prepare weekly and monthly cost performance reports for Maintenance Management and Superintendence, identifying variances, causes, and corrective actions.

Prepare executive presentations on costs, forecasts, and the annual budget for internal stakeholders, using tools such as Power BI, Excel, and PowerPoint. Analyze the budget, commitments, and actual costs of maintenance activities and projects, verifying their consistency and the correct allocation of costs associated with materials and services.
Update the OPEX/CAPEX forecast monthly, taking into account purchase orders, lead times, maintenance schedules, and commitments made.
Analyze deviations from the budget and forecast, proposing control and mitigation measures, and providing support with the monitoring of action plans.
Validate the correct accounting entries and assignment of cost codes for commitments and incurred costs.

• Monthly Accounting Closing Processes

Interact with the Finance department in the process of delivering information related to:
Reallocations
Variations
Provisions
Deviations
Provide support with the Backcharge process management for users from other departments
Assist in the month-end closing control process (costs)
Assist in the labor control process using the Evolution tool
Analyze the consistency of employee hourly reporting by job position and cost center.
Upload information to Evolution
Verify the consistency of the information uploaded to Evolution

• Equipment and Component Lifecycle Optimization

Analyze cost per hour (CPH) of critical equipment (trucks, loaders, shovels, mills, crushers, etc.), proposing strategies to reduce or stabilize CPH.
Collaborate on replacement, overhaul, rebuild, or renewal studies of assets, contributing cost analyses, useful life projections, and financial scenarios.

• Strategic Inventory Management

Monthly monitoring of inventory levels for critical spare parts and major components, evaluating financial impacts (turnover, immobilized inventory, obsolete inventory).
Prepare reports and monitor immobilized inventory, coordinating with the Maintenance Execution and Planning areas to define and implement action plans for its reduction.

• Data Analysis and Management Reporting

Develop, implement, and maintain up-to-date dashboards (Power BI) that allow visualization of cost performance, component lifespan, CPH, inventory levels, and asset management KPIs.
Perform analyses and projections based on historical trends in costs, failures, and consumption.
Prepare reports that support strategic decisions for improving asset availability, reliability, and costs.

• Continuous Improvement and Operational Excellence

Work with the technical office to identify opportunities for savings and efficiency in maintenance and asset management processes. Participate in operational excellence projects (LEAN, KAISEN, RCM, operational projects), contributing economic analyses and impact assessments.
Propose initiatives to optimize the total cost of ownership (TCO) of mine and plant equipment.

Minimum Required Profile:
Academic:
Completed university/technical studies in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Finance, or related fields.

Experience:
1-2 years of experience in similar positions, with knowledge of cost and budget management in mining projects.

WORK LOCATION: Fruta del Norte, Zamora Chinchipe, Lundin Gold Ecuador. Availability to work a 5x2 schedule.
