Job Purpose:

To strategically and operationally plan and verify activities aimed at achieving the company's objectives, through the analysis and integration of information related to the Environmental Management Plan, environmental commitments and permits, applicable regulations, and corporate standards applied to FDN's operations. Additionally, to optimize production, logistics, and administrative processes and systems to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance quality.

Functions:
Lead the environmental planning of operations, analyzing information related to compliance with the Environmental Management Plan, environmental permit and license commitments, applicable regulations, and corporate standards.

Coordinate the implementation and continuous improvement of the Integrated Management System, promoting the standardization and optimization of environmental processes through management tools and continuous improvement principles (Lean 5S Methodology).
Manage the planning and monitoring of the environmental budget, controlling its execution, identifying opportunities for resource optimization, and ensuring alignment with the area's strategic objectives. Consolidate and analyze the area's environmental information, managing environmental performance indicators (KPIs) and ESG commitments, and preparing regulatory and corporate reports that facilitate decision-making and the monitoring of area objectives.
Coordinate the management of environmental permits, compliance audits, and regulatory processes, including reviewing technical information generated by consultants, addressing external audits, and maintaining current environmental permits.
Lead the implementation of specific environmental planning tasks assigned by superiors.
Participate in the management of environmental risks and events, including incident investigations, environmental emergency response, operational change management, and follow-up on the closure of preventive and corrective actions.
Provide technical support for compliance with Environmental Management Plans (EMPs), environmental legislation, corporate and international standards, and applicable regulations for the different operational areas of FDN and contractors, in order to ensure environmental protection in the development of mining operations, metallurgical processes, and auxiliary activities. Coordinate with operational areas the Change Management process (Environmental Releases, Environmental Construction Plans) required for the Fruta del Norte construction activities.

Ensure compliance with Corporate Standards, Environmental Management Plans, the Environmental Management System, and other commitments assumed by the Company through the planning, coordination, and execution of environmental inspections of operational areas and their contractors.
Standardize and optimize the operational processes of the environmental area, promoting improvements in planning, monitoring, and control through management tools and continuous improvement principles.
Ensure the management of non-mining waste from Fruta del Norte, reviewing and improving it periodically.
Coordinate archaeological and cultural heritage management activities required by Ecuadorian legislation and other commitments assumed by the Company.
Participate in and lead the response to environmental emergencies according to the instructions of the emergency manager and management.
Participate in investigations of environmental events and provide support to operational areas in this process. Ensure the implementation and closure of preventive and corrective actions in accordance with the environmental event action plan.

Minimum Required Profile:

Academic Background: 

Completed university studies in INDUSTRIAL ENGINEERING, CIVIL ENGINEERING, or BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION
Additional Education: Desirable: Integrated management systems, Power BI, big data, artificial intelligence.

Experience:

3-5 years of experience optimizing production systems and processes in extractive, industrial, construction, or related industries.
Experience in project management, planning, or evaluation.
Experience in environmental planning or management is desirable (but not required).

Specific Required Knowledge:

Development and implementation of sustainable strategies.
Knowledge of regulations and standards in the mining sector.
Knowledge of sustainability and environmental risk management.
Indicator management, database management, and reporting.
Integrated Management Systems (IMS)
