Role Purpose:
To plan, coordinate, and control the execution of construction activities related to roads, access roads, platforms, earthmoving, handling of unsuitable materials, quarries, and spoil heaps, ensuring compliance with schedules, technical specifications, quality standards, safety, occupational health, and environmental regulations. This role will be responsible for coordinating resources, contractors, and assigned work fronts, guaranteeing efficient and safe execution aligned with project objectives.
Functions:
• Coordinate the daily execution of assigned construction activities, according to work plans, schedules, and guidelines established by Senior Supervision and Coordination.
• Monitor on-site the construction activities of roads, access roads, platforms, earthmoving, quarrying, handling of unsuitable materials, spoil heap formation, and auxiliary works.
• Verify compliance with plans, technical specifications, construction procedures, and quality standards applicable to assigned tasks.
• Coordinate with contractors, operators, and support staff to ensure the proper execution of scheduled activities.
• Monitor the availability and utilization of equipment, materials, and resources assigned to the different work fronts.
• Track the performance and productivity of construction equipment and report any deviations that may affect the achievement of project objectives.
• Assist in identifying and managing operational constraints, construction interferences, and resource needs.
• Coordinate with the Surveying, QA/QC, Safety, Environment, Planning, and Operations departments to ensure the continuity of scheduled activities.
• Verify compliance with operational controls, work permits, IPERC matrices, and other applicable safety requirements.
• Conduct periodic field inspections to verify safety conditions, quality, and work progress.
• Prepare daily and weekly reports on physical progress, equipment utilization, productivity, and activity completion.
• Maintain up-to-date information regarding project progress, resources, constraints, and operational requirements.
• Promptly inform the Senior Coordinator and Supervisor about risks, deviations, incidents, or conditions that may affect work execution.
• Comply with and enforce the company's established Safety, Occupational Health, Environmental, and Quality policies, procedures, and standards.
Minimum Required Profile:
Academic
Bachelor's degree: Civil Engineer or related field in construction.
Experience
Minimum 6 years of experience in the construction of roads, platforms, spoil heaps, waste dumps, quarries, or large-scale earthmoving projects.
Verifiable experience in coordinating field activities, contractors, heavy equipment, and operational resources.
Knowledge of productivity control, equipment performance, schedule monitoring, and physical progress control.
Experience in interpreting plans, technical specifications, and construction procedures. Desired experience in mining projects, road construction, or large-scale infrastructure projects.
Experience applying safety, occupational health, and environmental standards in construction activities.
Experience in multidisciplinary coordination with Operations, Surveying, QA/QC, Safety, Environment, and Planning departments.
