Job Purpose:
The Safety Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the preventive management of work on the assigned project (Process Plant Expansion). This includes providing guidance on the on-site implementation of guidelines contained in standards, safety procedures, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) developed for the activity, as well as the use of HS tools and best practices in occupational safety and health.
Functions:
Actively participate in pre-shift safety talks conducted by personnel in their area of responsibility.
Verify that workspaces have safe and healthy conditions in accordance with the company's occupational safety and health standards.
Continuously reinforce the proper use of the company's HS tools among supervisors and workers in the area.
Monitor and guide compliance with the guidelines related to the company's VLP Safety Leadership Program. Participate, along with the area managers, in the daily work planning and ensure that HS guidelines are considered in a timely manner.
Continuously verify in the field that personnel (supervisors and workers) properly manage risks and strictly implement the controls provided in the HS tools.
Accompany inspections, audit processes, visits from government entities, and other tours in your area of responsibility.
Conduct formal safety inspections according to the established plan.
Participate as a member of the incident investigation team.
Encourage personnel assigned to your area of responsibility to complete reports of unsafe acts and conditions in their work area.
Together with the assigned area manager, follow up on the closure of reported observations.
Supervise that HS documents and records are properly generated, organized, and filed by the assigned area manager.
Provide support to the emergency response team during the occurrence and contingency of unwanted events.
Minimum Required Profile:
Academic:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Health and Industrial Safety registered with SENESCYT.
- Certification in electrical risk prevention issued by an organization accredited by the Ministry of Labor (MDT).
- Certification in construction risk management issued by an organization accredited by the MDT.
Experience:
- 3-5 years of experience in industrial construction projects.
Specific Required Knowledge:
- Knowledge of Industrial Safety
WORK LOCATION: Fruta del Norte, Zamora Chinchipe, Lundin Gold Ecuador. Availability to work 14x14 shifts.
