Purpose of the role:

To provide strategic support to Lundin Gold's regional exploration activities by preventing and managing social risks that may affect the social license to operate. The role involves ongoing dialogue with external stakeholders and communities near exploration areas, ensuring transparent, respectful, and culturally relevant communication.

The role is also responsible for executing and monitoring projects and commitments arising from cooperation agreements with communities, promoting relationships based on trust, respect, community participation, and intercultural dialogue, thus ensuring effective and sustainable social relations.

Functions:

Respond on an ongoing basis to requests for information from stakeholders through visits, meetings, and support to communities and neighborhoods in the area of influence of mining projects led by LUG.
Establish relationships with owners of farms and properties where the company has concessions in order to obtain entry permits and carry out activities when appropriate.
Guide external stakeholders on the legal framework for managing strategic alliances with the company.
Comply with the actions established in the Local Stakeholder Map.
Analyze projects received from community actors and determine their technical feasibility.
Follow up on current inter-institutional cooperation agreements and verify compliance with the commitments made, in addition to managing corrective measures in case of non-compliance.
Support other areas of the company that require interaction with the community.
Support compliance with the current environmental operating license through the correct application of the Community Development Support Plan (PADC) and LUG's Sustainability Strategy.
 Prepare reports that demonstrate the monitoring of the various initiatives financed by LUG.
 Identify community risks and propose proposals for their mitigation and/or elimination.
Perform your role in crisis management in accordance with corporate protocols.
Support audit processes related to the social component of LUG.
Manage and participate in mass events to disseminate project information (fairs, open houses, forums, exhibitions, and social participation processes).
Conduct SR&C inductions for internal staff or staff associated with activities in the territory.

Minimum required profile:

Academic

Professional training. Professionals in rural development, social sciences (economics, sociology, anthropology), as well as professionals in natural sciences such as biology or environmental sciences, whose training contributes to understanding the territory, its ecosystems, and socio-environmental dynamics in the context of regional exploration will be considered.
Experience in development projects with an emphasis on rural areas, community relations, and external communication.
Experience working with different social actors such as companies, government entities, NGOs, or other rural entities.
Experience in managing community relations with Corporate Responsibility standards.
Proficiency in Office software.
Basic English (desirable).
Shuar (desirable).

 

Experience

Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in similar and/or related positions.
Proficiency in GPS, georeferencing, and map reading (GIS).
Experience working in similar areas (Amazonia).
Field work (mandatory).
