Position Purpose:

Provide chemical analysis services to the Mine, Plant, and Exploration areas to ensure reliable and timely information on the chemical characterizations of the samples provided.

Duties:
Supervise, control, and coordinate the work team in charge to comply with established work standards and procedures and maximize productivity, ensuring compliance with the committed chemical analyses.

• Perform quality control of the analyses performed and follow established procedures.

• Check the results obtained against current operating conditions (Plant and Mine samples) to ensure that the results obtained are reliable compared to potential expected results.

• Enter the results into the corresponding databases to deliver the results in a timely manner.

• Comply with and ensure compliance with safety regulations in the sample preparation, smelting, and wet-process analysis areas.

• Monitor the time and date of sample intake daily, establish priorities, and deliver results in a timely manner, coordinating work according to requests.

• Perform chemical analyses to control the Plant's process (composites, spot samples) for gold, silver, cyanide, pH, zinc, copper, and iron, so that the Plant has information and can determine operating conditions, procedure effectiveness, and recoveries, and decide on any necessary operational modifications.

• Perform chemical analyses of Mine and Exploration samples daily.

• Perform chemical analyses of samples from Metallurgical Laboratory tests (liquid and solid), when required.

• Perform chemical analyses of the final product (metal doré smelting area) to determine the quality and quantity of the product.

Minimum Required Qualifications:
Academic Qualifications:

Chemical Engineering

Experience

3-5 years of experience in laboratory chemical analysis, preferably in the mining industry. Knowledge of atomic absorption, ICP, cyanide measurement in water, measurement of physical and chemical parameters in water, gold and silver analysis in ores and concentrates, and doré bars (preferred).

Knowledge of the ISO 17025 management system (desirable) and ISO 9001 is desirable.
