In the fourth quarter of 2019, Lundin Gold achieved its first gold production, as well as its first export of gold concentrate and doré. In the first quarter of 2020, FDN reached commercial production. JOB PURPOSE
Perform geological and geotechnical logging of core samples, develop drilling plans, and update the geological database for the FDN South Infill Program, applying the Company’s logging, sampling, and QAQC standards and procedures, in order to ensure reliable and timely geological information for interpretation, geological modeling, and resource estimation.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Conduct geological and geotechnical logging of diamond core samples in accordance with Company standards to ensure consistent and reliable recording of geological information.
Define sampling intervals and implement QAQC controls to ensure the representativeness and validity of laboratory results.
Develop drilling well designs and oversee their execution in the field through completion to meet the objectives of the FDN Sur Infill Program.
Enter, update, and validate geological information in the database (logging, sampling, collar, survey, testing) to maintain a complete and auditable database.
Control the quality of information by reviewing QAQC and laboratory results to ensure the validity of the data used in modeling.
Prepare technical reports on the work performed to provide timely information for resource interpretation and estimation.
EDUCATION
Professional degree in Geology or Geological Engineering
GENERAL EXPERIENCE
Minimum of 3 years of experience in similar positions.
SKILLS
Proficiency with geological software (Leapfrog or similar)
Databases (Fusion, SQL, or similar) and Microsoft Office.
