Purpose of the position:
The Mechanical Technician 2 is responsible for performing basic maintenance and repair tasks on heavy machinery under the direct supervision of more experienced technicians. This role focuses on developing fundamental skills, including performing routine inspections, assisting with minor repairs, and familiarizing oneself with the company's safety and operating procedures. The Mechanical Technician 1 contributes to the safe and efficient operation of machinery while gaining experience and technical knowledge. In addition, they participate effectively in all equipment and infrastructure maintenance work associated with industrial and maintenance mechanics, whether scheduled or unscheduled, complying with technical and safety standards and adhering to Lundin Gold's first fundamental principle.
Functions:
Install, maintain, and repair all equipment involved in mining operations.
Perform all assigned maintenance activities (repairs, preventive maintenance, and inspections) following defined procedures and work-related documentation (AST, 5 POINTS, GO NO GO, etc.).
Continuously report on the work performed, as well as any findings related to the need for equipment repairs. Detail the time and materials needed to maintain the functionality of the equipment.
Care for and maintain the resources assigned for maintenance tasks (machines, tools, accessories, instruments, and PPE) in good condition.
Understand and apply the company's policies and golden rules.
Report all accidents, incidents, and near misses related to your work environment, following Lundin Gold's Health, Safety, and Environment guidelines.

Specific Functions:
Perform preventive maintenance tasks on heavy machinery under limited supervision, using appropriate tools and equipment to ensure optimal equipment performance.
Complete work orders, accurately recording the parts used and labor applied in each segment. Ensure proper follow-up on tasks performed.
Clean equipment and perform basic maintenance to ensure efficient operation and extend the useful life of the machinery.
Check and readjust equipment bolts, as well as replace or change bolts in poor condition, to maintain the structural integrity of the equipment.
Check fluid levels, detecting leaks or malfunctions, and notify the supervisor of any substandard conditions to ensure immediate correction.
Perform scheduled 250-hour maintenance, following established procedures.
Collect oil samples from various machinery components to ensure the required quality in equipment analysis and diagnosis.
Inspect the condition of safety signs and informational stickers, ensuring they are legible and correctly placed.
Strictly comply with all safety rules and procedures established in the workplace to maintain a safe environment and prevent accidents.

Minimum Required Profile:
Higher Technology in fields such as Mechanics, Industrial Mechanics, and/or Electromechanics.
Experience:
1-2 years of experience in a role as a Heavy Machinery Mechanic, ideally mobile mining equipment.
Experience in underground environments is desirable.
Specific Knowledge Required:
Identification of Diesel Engine Components.
General Lubrication.
Tire Maintenance.
Minor Cabin Repairs.
General Light Replacement.
Control of Intake Filters and Engine Air Components.
Repairs to Drilling Equipment.
On-site Technical Tests Passed / Certifications:
External candidates must have all required certifications at the time of application.
CAT-Online “Technicians for the World” Training Certificate.
Driver's licenses / Required certifications
Type B driver's license issued more than 1 year ago, with a minimum of 25 points (essential)
Type G driver's license (desirable)
Telehandler operation certification (desirable)
