Role Purpose:
Operate a CAT 980 series loader or similar to support the crushing, quarrying, and stockpiling processes.
Duties
• Operate the CAT 980 series front-end loader or similar.
• Supply material to the crushing plant.
• Load different types of materials from the quarry into dump trucks.
• Select the requested material for loading and shipment to the TSF Dock or wherever the department requires.
• Move material from the crushing plant and stockpile it.
• Perform the necessary daily inspections to keep the equipment in optimal working order.
• Coordinate the loading of materials with the Quarry Foreman.
• Follow safe work procedures when operating the equipment.
• Report any equipment repair needs, any material needs, and any other maintenance needs to maintain operational production.
• Report all accidents, incidents, and near misses involving their crews and take corrective action for immediate, long-term, and permanent remediation.
• Follow all company health and safety procedures and plans.
• Maintain the tools and materials necessary for the execution of the work.
• Participate in specific Surface Operations training and instruction.

Scope of Responsibility and Complexity:
Demonstrate a high level of knowledge to safely operate loading, mining, and construction equipment.
Integrated Occupational Health and Safety Responsibilities:
• Employees must comply with national health and safety regulations, company policies and procedures, and the company's environmental compliance policy.
• Employees will perform other duties as directed and as required by the company to ensure optimal safe operation.
• Must wear personal protective equipment, including steel-toed shoes, long sleeves, and any other equipment required to perform tasks safely as determined by the health and safety plan.
• Walk on rough, uneven, and wet terrain and climb ladders.
Wear personal protective equipment, such as respirators in dusty environments and fall arrest equipment when accessing equipment or working at heights.
Minimum Required Profile:
Academic
• Training in aggregates production (Desirable but not essential).
• Certifications in the handling and use of heavy equipment (Desirable but not essential).
• Type G operator's license (Heavy Equipment).
Experience
Minimum 3 years of experience operating a CAT 980 loader or similar.
• Experience in quarry operations on road and/or mining projects.
• Working knowledge of the equipment, materials, and tools used in the industry.
• Knowledge of relevant building and safety codes, standards, and regulations.

• Ability to work at height (slopes) and in varied weather conditions.
• Ability to perform night work.
