JOB PURPOSE

 

Reporting directly to the Maintenance Supervisor, the maintenance worker will perform the

various tasks and responsibilities assigned by the maintenance supervisor to properly maintain and repair

the various pieces of equipment at the facilities.

 

DUTIES

 

Repair, maintain, and install all equipment used in operations.

Perform all necessary maintenance operations to ensure that both mobile and stationary equipment functions optimally.

Perform all maintenance tasks on-site.

Conduct all necessary inspections of equipment within the assigned area.

Work with and supervise apprentices and assistants.

Report any equipment repair needs, material requirements, and any other maintenance needs to keep production running.

Work with supervisors to prepare lists of tools, materials, and spare parts.

Report all accidents, incidents, and near-misses involving your crew, and take corrective measures for immediate, long-term, and permanent resolution.

Follow all company health and safety procedures and plans.

Maintain the tools and materials necessary to perform the work.

Ensure the department’s compliance with the requirements of the Government of Ecuador, environmental, health, and safety legislation, shareholder regulations, and company policies.

EDUCATION

 

High school diploma

 

Completed technical studies (preferred)

 

GENERAL EXPERIENCE

 

1–2 years of experience

 

SPECIFIC EXPERIENCE

 

Minimum of 5 to 7 years in the heavy machinery sector

Experience in mining is a plus

Knowledge of repairing minor and major components

Good ability to interpret equipment service manuals

Excellent written and oral communication skills

Knowledge of heavy machinery rebuilding is a plus

 

SKILLS

 

Ability to work at heights and in extreme and varied weather conditions.

Identification and assessment of risks in work environments.

Proficiency in the use of specific tools and equipment (densitometers, heavy machinery, hand tools).

Willingness to perform physically demanding tasks (lifting heavy loads, working night shifts).

 

LICENSES

 

Class B License: Allows the driver to operate cars and pickup trucks with trailers carrying up to 1.75 metric tons of payload.

Class G License: For agricultural machinery, heavy machinery, and road construction equipment (tractors, motor graders, backhoes, forklifts, excavators, and others)
