Job Purpose:
The purpose of the Miner 1 position is for someone with no prior experience in underground mining to start as an assistant in the services area, learning all the activities inherent to mining from the ground up. As they gain experience in the industry, and in accordance with the growth plan, they will be trained in the operation of auxiliary service equipment. The work involves routine tasks and has a certain degree of complexity in underground environments.
Responsibilities:
The work is completed according to general guidelines.
Most work is performed according to standard practice and established procedures.
The work is operational and requires some judgment regarding pace and adherence to quality and safety standards.
The Supervisor provides direction in all situations, accompanying the employee at all times.
Decisions primarily impact the productivity of the team or the process being carried out.
Perform the service activities assigned by the Coordinator, fulfilling the duties of an assistant to the service operator directly responsible for carrying out the activity.
Use hand tools safely without endangering yourself or your coworkers.
You must always follow the instructions of the service person you are assisting, always being prepared to use the STOP and THINK sign if safety conditions warrant it.
