Lundin Gold, through its Ecuadorian subsidiary Aurelian Ecuador S.A., owns the Fruta del Norte (FDN) Mine, located in southeastern Ecuador in the Province of Zamora Chinchipe.

Fruta del Norte (FDN) is one of the largest and highest-grade gold deposits in the world currently in production. The Company has an experienced mining operations team dedicated to advancing FDN responsibly. In the fourth quarter of 2019, Lundin Gold achieved its first gold production, as well as its first export of gold concentrate and doré. In the first quarter of 2020, FDN reached commercial production. JOB PURPOSE

The Miner 1 position is intended for individuals with no prior experience in underground mining. The employee will start as an assistant in the service area to learn all the basic activities involved in mining. As they gain experience, and in accordance with the growth plan, they will be trained in the operation of auxiliary service equipment. The job involves routine tasks of some complexity in underground environments.

DUTIES

Perform assigned service tasks as an assistant to the service operator, under direct supervision.

Use hand tools safely without jeopardizing your own safety or that of your team.

Follow the instructions of the assigned service operator at all times, always retaining the authority to use the “STOP and THINK” card if safety conditions warrant it.

Perform tasks in accordance with standard practices, established procedures, and general guidelines from the supervisor.

Understand and follow instructions to maintain work pace, quality, and safety standards.

OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH RESPONSIBILITIES

Comply with and enforce the Company’s Internal Safety and Health Regulations and work procedures.

Apply the risk management tools established by the company.

Report substandard acts and conditions and identify the risks associated with your activities.

Actively participate in Safety and Health programs and activities.

ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES

Strengthen the organization’s culture of environmental responsibility by complying with the guidelines of the Integrated Management System and ensuring that job duties are performed in accordance with criteria of sustainability, fulfillment of commitments, pollution prevention, and environmental protection. Additionally, use resources efficiently and promptly report any deviations, incidents, or situations that may affect environmental performance.

GENERAL EXPERIENCE

1–2 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE

SPECIFIC EXPERIENCE

Preferably at least 1 year of experience in related roles (above ground).

Ability to understand instructions and follow procedures.

KNOWLEDGE

Adaptability to work in remote areas and underground environments.

LICENSES

Class B Driver’s License: Allows the holder to drive cars and pickup trucks with trailers carrying up to 1.75 metric tons of payload.
