JOB PURPOSE

Operate in accordance with the safety and operational standards and policies of the underground mine development teams.

RESPONSIBILITIES


Develop the mining faces in strict compliance with the company’s safety and operational policies.
Complete the planning and scope of work assigned during the shift.
Assist in the development of local underground mine operators.
Support the underground mine mobile maintenance team in the effective maintenance of equipment.

Effectively operate drilling and support equipment to safely and efficiently meet the underground mine’s production and quality goals. Assist in training new staff on the operation of assigned equipment.

Support the implementation and maintenance of underground mine policies and procedures.

Ensure compliance with the health and safety policies and regulations in effect in the country while on the job.

Works under the supervision of the mine supervision department in accordance with its established guidelines, objectives, deadlines, and procedures.

EDUCATION


High school diploma.


GENERAL EXPERIENCE


Minimum of 5 years of experience operating Boltec, Jumbo, Scoop, Cabletec, or AD45 trucks.
Ability to pass on knowledge and experience to trainees.
Experience operating Atlas Copco, Epiroc, or similar equipment.
Experience in tunneling through medium-to-poor quality rock.
Experience using explosives.
Experience with electro-welded mesh support.
International experience is a plus.


SKILLS


Fluency in Spanish.
Excellent verbal communication skills.
Good organizational and planning skills.
Strong ability to work in a team.
Ability to adapt to changing environments.


LICENSES


Light vehicle driver’s license.
Certificate, license, and/or proof of operator certification.
