Purpose of the role:

Perform general assistant duties, following instructions and safety rules to support all earthmoving activities in coordination with the foreman and TSF Coordinator.

Functions:
•    Inform road users of temporary closures due to roadworks.
•    Carry out traffic control tasks.
•    Allow or restrict the passage of personnel and equipment to the work sites.
•    Control the entry and exit of materials.
•    Verify that the unloading area is stable for vehicles and that they comply with the corresponding safety regulations prior to unloading the material.
•    Place fixed and mobile signage at the work sites.
•    Perform minor cleaning with hand tools.
•    Assemble culverts, fill saprolite bags, lay geosynthetics (geotextile and geomembrane).
•    Guide vehicles for the movement of materials.
•    Manual excavation and reshaping of crown ditches, covering with geosynthetics, placing stakes, erosion control barriers, etc.
•    Performing manual tasks on slopes.
•    Supporting earthmoving activities in quarries, TSFs, or wherever the project requires it. 
•    Verifying the performance of LUG and contractor heavy machinery (excavators, tractors, dump trucks, etc.).
•    Support in the installation of geotechnical instrumentation.
•    Control of surface water, drainage, construction of sedimentation tanks, and placement of sedimentation barriers.
•    Assist in fuel supply.
•    Lookout for work near bodies of water, bank exploitation, and work on slopes.

Scope of Responsibility and Complexity:
•    Works under the supervision of the TSF Coordinator, in accordance with their guidelines, goals, schedules, and established procedures. 
•    Their work requires commitment to the Company's policies, principles, and procedures, as well as knowledge of mining operations and applicable legislation.
•    Integrated Occupational Health and Safety responsibilities:
•    Ability to work long periods of time without compromising your safety or that of your colleagues.  
•    Skills in handling small tools (shovels, picks, crowbars, etc.)
•    Use specialized PPE for the task throughout your shift. (Gloves, mask, goggles, reflective clothing, etc.)

Minimum requirements:
Education
•    High school diploma (preferred, but not required).
Experience
•    At least one year of experience in similar jobs (preferred, but not required).
•    Willingness to work on roads and platforms. 
•    Preferably with a Class B driver's license (Desirable, but not required).
•    Additional skills and qualities required:
•    Ability to perform physically demanding tasks. 
•    Ability to work night shifts.
