Purpose of the position:
Reports directly to the Senior Project Planning Engineer. The Project Engineer will carry out each of the mining projects efficiently, be present at each stage of the project, and ensure that each of the project objectives is met in accordance with the initial project plan within the framework of industrial safety, delivery time, budget, and environmental care.
Functions:
Define the best method for monitoring and quality control for each of the projects currently underway.
Carry out field inspections to monitor the quality standards defined for project control.
Follow up on each of the concerns of the project stakeholders (end customer, HSE, environmental, logistics, and finance).
Manage the resources and equipment defined for the project within SAP.
Maintain constant communication with the logistics area to ensure that the resources and equipment necessary for the project are received within the established time frame.
Perform document management for each phase of the project.
Carry out the initial risk assessment for each project.
Document daily progress and any setbacks that arise, along with the respective lessons learned from each of these.
Attend daily meetings to constantly monitor the activities scheduled for project execution.
Define the stakeholders for each project and schedule the necessary meetings with each of them to discuss the project's progress.
Prepare weekly and biweekly summaries, reports, and presentations on the project, for both internal and external use.
Support the development of business models that technically and economically justify any idea that could be considered a project to be executed in the future.
Minimum Requirements:
Academic Background
University degree in Mining, Industrial, or Civil Engineering, or a diploma related to mining.
Experience
Minimum of 3 years of experience in underground mining.
Knowledge of project management tools.
Additional Skills and Qualities
Ability to work in extreme and varied weather conditions.
Preferably, knowledge of Spanish and English, both spoken and written.
