Job Purpose:

Analyze, control, and optimize CAPEX and OPEX costs associated with near-mine and regional exploration work, ensuring reliable financial information that contributes to improved operational efficiency and supports strategic decision-making within the Exploration area.

Functions:
Establish, maintain, and improve the cost management and control system for exploration projects and programs.
Prepare the baseline budget and monitor updated budgets, commitments, and incurred costs.
Maintain and manage the change management system, estimating the budgetary impact of variances and deviations.
Ensure the correct allocation and use of cost codes.
Identify and implement cost optimization and savings strategies.
Prepare and present weekly and monthly cost reports.
Analyze budget variances, provide timely alerts, and propose corrective actions.
Develop dashboards, tabular reports, and cost vs. time curves.

Present cost statements and projections to the various project stakeholders.
Lead the development of WBS and CBS structures for exploration CAPEX projects.
Support the CAPEX expenditure authorization and control processes.
Evaluate requests for additional costs and contractual changes.
Support bidding processes and the technical and economic evaluation of proposals from contractors and suppliers.
Coordinate cost registration and control with internal departments (Finance, Operations, Geology, Permits, Environment, among others).
Support the planning and scheduling of exploration projects according to departmental requirements.
Ensure the traceability of financial information for internal and external audits.

Minimum Required Profile:

Academic:

Industrial Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mining Engineering, Geological Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Project Management/Business Administration.

Experience:

Minimum 5 years of experience in cost analysis and control, project management, or similar positions.

Experience as a Cost Engineer in engineering, construction, or mining exploration projects.

Specific skills required:
Experience in simultaneous monitoring and control of OPEX and CAPEX portfolios/projects with multiple work fronts.
Preparation and presentation of cost and budget reports and dashboards for Superintendent, Manager, and Vice President levels.
Experience in CAPEX estimating, change management, and review of contractor and supplier proposals.
Ability to integrate key stakeholders (Finance, Operations, Geology, Permits, Environment) in cost estimation and projection processes.
Proficiency in project management and analysis tools (MS Project, Power BI, or others).
Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Experience with SAP or other ERP systems (desirable).
Availability to travel and work in remote areas as needed by the project.
Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced project environment. Languages:
