Job Purpose:

Change tires on mobile equipment; assemble, disassemble, and repair minor damages; control tire pressure and remaining life, and handle general tire maintenance.

Follow up on materials requested by supervision.

Maintain records of activities and assist the supervisor with assigned tasks.

Functions:

  • Perform inspection of pressure, wear, and condition of tires on all mobile equipment and keep written records.

  • Assemble tires of different sizes, including auxiliary and support equipment, up to heavy equipment with 33-inch rims, following safe work procedures and using properly selected tools and equipment.

  • Disassemble, evaluate tire condition, and ensure correct disposal and labeling.

  • Repair tires with minor damages by correctly selecting the type of patch, tools, and equipment to be used.

  • Evaluate the condition of components such as rims, locks, bolts, nuts, and tires to ensure safe work.

  • Operate equipment such as forklifts, overhead cranes, or tire manipulators.

  • Keep tools and equipment in good condition by planning and performing maintenance tasks.

  • Request materials, spare parts, and supplies from the supervisor.

  • Change tires on surface and underground mine equipment following safe work procedures.

  • Maintain a clean and organized workstation and any locations where occasional work is performed.

  • Conduct proper shift handover to maintain continuity of operations.

  • Responsible for diligently following supervisor instructions.

  • Ensure the department complies with requirements from Ecuadorian government agencies, Lundin Gold’s lending institutions, shareholder environmental, health, and safety requirements, and company regulations.

Minimum Required Profile:

Academic

  • High school diploma.

Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years in similar positions.

  • Basic mechanical knowledge is a plus.

  • Operation of overhead cranes, forklifts, and/or tire manipulators.

  • Operation of tire mounting and dismounting equipment.

Driver’s Licenses:

  • Type G driver’s license.
